Practise French with a purpose for each skill.

The TCF workspace focuses on the Canada format. Instructions, questions and practice content are in French. Select the available skills in a published preview to shape your session.

Compréhension orale

Listen for meaning in French recordings and select the answer supported by what you hear. Practise identifying the situation, speaker intention and important details while following the one-play audio sequence.

Compréhension écrite

Read French texts and answer comprehension questions. Identify the purpose of a text and the relationship between ideas, then return to specific evidence before choosing an answer.

Expression écrite

Practise a message, a recount or report, and comparing viewpoints to develop an argument. Use the instructions and word guidance in the task to plan a clear response. Guest writing is unscored.

Expression orale

Explore guided interview, information-exchange and point-of-view prompts. Written examiner prompts guide the simulation; practise aloud or record temporarily on your device. This is not a live oral examination.

Give your TCF Canada preparation a clear routine.

  1. Read the French instructions first

Identify what the task asks you to do before focusing on unfamiliar words. The purpose, audience and response format help you decide what belongs in your answer.

  2. Use one skill to guide the session

Choose a listening or reading preview to practise comprehension, or a writing or speaking task to organise your own ideas in French.

  3. Keep a short learning note

After finishing, note an expression to reuse and one difficulty to revisit. Guest work is temporary, so keep your own study notes before leaving the tab.

TCF Canada practice, with transparent feedback.

Free previews show the tasks and sections available in each published set. Some sets use shorter demo timings. Check the details before starting, and use official candidate guidance to confirm current examination arrangements.

Create an account with a verified email address and one-time code, or Google where enabled, then open the TCF Canada workspace. Search Mock Tests, filter by progress and begin or resume eligible sittings. Saved responses and released results remain in your account; guest responses do not transfer.

Publicly previewable tests carry an Always free subscription exemption for eligible signed-in attempts. Sitting dates, access codes and attempt allowances still apply. Other tests follow the current access and subscription settings shown in the library.

Questions about TCF Canada practice

Is this free TCF practice specifically for TCF Canada?

Yes. The TCF workspace focuses on TCF Canada-style practice. It is independent preparation and does not register you for an official exam. Check the official provider for other TCF versions and current requirements.

Are the practice questions in French?

Yes. TCF practice content, instructions and tasks are in French. This English-language guide explains how to use the preview and what its practice results include.

Will the preview tell me my official TCF score or NCLC level?

No. Listening and reading choice questions receive raw practice marks only. The platform does not convert guest marks into an official TCF score or certified NCLC level; writing and speaking are unscored.

How does TCF speaking practice work online?

The preview uses guided tasks with written examiner prompts. You can practise aloud or record temporarily in your browser with microphone permission. It is not an adaptive conversation or a live examiner assessment.

Can I get writing and speaking feedback for TCF Canada?

Guest writing and speaking are unscored. Saved submissions can receive feedback through the evaluation workflows supported for the exam. AI-assisted or external processing requires consent, and availability and reviewer release vary. Feedback is practice guidance, not an official score; pronunciation requires audio evidence.

Can I find and resume saved mock tests?

Yes. In a signed-in workspace, use Mock Tests to search, filter by progress and open eligible Begin, Resume or Retake actions. Existing sitting windows and attempt limits apply. Leaving a session does not pause its timers.
