Work on understanding, expression and persuasion.

TEF Canada preparation has its own task patterns. The TEF workspace keeps these separate from TCF practice, with the sections and timing profile shown for each published set.

Compréhension orale

Follow French audio and answer questions about the information, context and intention. Use a quiet space and headphones so you can concentrate on each recording’s one-play practice sequence.

Compréhension écrite

Work through French written material and select responses supported by the text. Practise distinguishing the overall message from a detail and checking the context of an unfamiliar expression.

Expression écrite

Practise continuing an article and developing an argued point of view. Keep your response connected to the prompt, organise ideas into a clear progression and check the task’s word guidance. Guest writing is unscored.

Expression orale

Use guided prompts to practise asking for information and persuading someone. Develop follow-up questions, reasons and examples. The browser simulation uses written prompts and does not include a live examiner.

Use a TEF Canada mock as a focused rehearsal.

  1. Choose TEF Canada deliberately

TCF Canada and TEF Canada both involve French, but their tasks differ. Select a TEF-labelled preview so your rehearsal fits the format you are preparing for.

  2. Plan a response, not a script

For expression tasks, identify your purpose and audience. Practise organising useful questions, supporting reasons and concrete examples within the time shown.

  3. Notice what needs another attempt

Use choice-question practice marks as one source of information. For expression tasks, reflect on clarity, vocabulary and how completely you addressed the prompt before choosing your next exercise.

Know what this TEF Canada mock can tell you.

The free library contains selected public previews, with available skills and demo or practice timings listed on each card. A preview helps you explore the platform and rehearse tasks; it is not an official TEF Canada paper or an exam booking service.

Create an account with a verified email address and one-time code, or Google where enabled, then open the TEF Canada workspace. Search Mock Tests, filter by progress and begin or resume eligible sittings. Saved responses and released results remain in your account; guest responses do not transfer.

Publicly previewable tests carry an Always free subscription exemption for eligible signed-in attempts. Sitting dates, access codes and attempt allowances still apply. Other tests follow the current access and subscription settings shown in the library.

Questions about TEF Canada practice

Is the TEF Canada mock free to try?

Published public previews are free to explore without an account or payment. The TEF filter shows the sets currently available; each set lists the skills it includes.

Is TEF Canada practice the same as TCF Canada practice?

No. The platform provides separate workspaces and task formats. TEF writing practice includes continuing an article and arguing a point of view; its guided speaking practice includes obtaining information and persuading. Choose the exam you are preparing for.

Can I obtain a TEF Canada score or certificate here?

No. This is an independent practice platform. Guest choice questions produce raw practice marks, not official TEF scores or certified NCLC levels. Official tests and certificates are handled by the exam provider.

Do I need a microphone for the free preview?

You can practise speaking aloud without recording. If you choose temporary browser recording, allow microphone access when requested. Headphones are useful for listening; no guest recording is saved to your account or evaluated.

Can I get writing and speaking feedback for TEF Canada?

Guest writing and speaking are unscored. Saved submissions can receive feedback through the evaluation workflows supported for the exam. AI-assisted or external processing requires consent, and availability and reviewer release vary. Feedback is practice guidance, not an official score; pronunciation requires audio evidence.

Can I find and resume saved mock tests?

Yes. In a signed-in workspace, use Mock Tests to search, filter by progress and open eligible Begin, Resume or Retake actions. Existing sitting windows and attempt limits apply. Leaving a session does not pause its timers.
