Writing and speaking feedback

Learn from task-specific strengths and next steps when feedback is released. AI-assisted evaluation and reviewer workflows depend on the exam, available evidence and your consent.

Understand feedback

Practise the skills you need

Work on listening, reading, writing and speaking. Choose individual sections where offered, check your audio setup, and retake eligible tests within the sitting’s attempt allowance.

Choose your exam

Feedback you can put into practice.

A useful evaluation gives you a next step: develop a reason, organise an answer or make a message clearer.

Writing and speaking

Supported workflows combine AI-assisted evaluation or reviewer feedback with your submitted work. CELPIP supports configured AI processing and external evaluation; IELTS, TCF and TEF support reviewer and external evaluation workflows. Availability and release timing vary by exam.

Evidence matters

External evaluation requires consent. Speaking pronunciation and acoustic delivery need audio evidence; a transcript alone cannot establish them. Practice estimates are learning guidance, not official scores.

Guest previews and saved attempts

Guest writing and speaking are unscored. Sign in for eligible saved attempts, then check Results & progress for the feedback released to you.

Before you get started.

Which exams can I practise for?

Maple Verba supports CELPIP General, IELTS Academic and General Training, TCF Canada and TEF Canada. Each has its own workspace and exam-specific tasks. The library shows the published mocks and sections currently available.

Can I try a free mock test without creating an account?

Yes. Guest Free Previews let you explore selected public mock tests without signing in or paying. Listening and reading choice questions receive practice marks. Guest writing and speaking are unscored, and guest responses do not transfer into a new account.

How do I create an account?

Choose Get started, then Create account to register with your email. Enter the six-digit verification code sent to your inbox, add your name and password, and choose from the available workspace and practice-goal options. Google signup is also available when enabled. Email registration depends on the site’s signup and email-delivery settings.

What if I forget my password?

Choose Forgot password? on the login screen. Verify the code sent to your account email, set a new password, then sign in again. If you use a Google-only account, continue with Google.

What is the difference between Always free and Free now?

Always free identifies publicly previewable tests that also bypass subscription restrictions for signed-in attempts and saved results. A compatible sitting must still be available; access-code, date and attempt limits apply. Free now — no subscription required reflects the current site setting and may change if subscriptions are enabled. The library displays the current counts and access labels.

Can I save my progress and resume later?

Signed-in practice saves your responses and shows eligible in-progress attempts in your workspace. Use the Maple Verba logo to return home, then Resume when available. Leaving does not pause exam timers or extend a sitting’s closing time, and one-play recordings cannot be restarted. Guest previews are temporary browser sessions.

Can I practise one skill at a time?

Where section practice is enabled, choose listening, reading, writing or speaking before starting. You can also choose a full practice session. The test details show the options available for that particular mock.

How does AI-assisted writing and speaking evaluation work?

Submitted writing and recorded speaking can receive task-specific feedback through supported AI-assisted or reviewer workflows. External processing requires your consent. Availability and release timing depend on the exam and review process; feedback is not guaranteed to be instant. Pronunciation cannot be assessed from a transcript alone. Guest writing and speaking are not evaluated.

Are these official exams or official scores?

No. Maple Verba provides independent practice and learning feedback. Results are not official CELPIP, IELTS, TCF or TEF scores, certificates, or proof of eligibility for immigration. Use the official exam provider and IRCC for test booking and current requirements.

What do I need to get started?

Use an up-to-date browser and a reliable connection. Have headphones for listening and a working microphone for recorded speaking. The device check helps you test your setup before a saved practice session.
